Will the quality be terrible if I compress to a specific size?
It depends on the target. If you compress a 5MB image down to 1MB, quality barely changes. Down to 100KB? There'll be some loss, but for ID photos and form uploads it's totally fine.
Why can't it reach my target size?
Sometimes the image is already small, or the target is set really low — even at minimum quality it can't get there. The tool will tell you the smallest size it could achieve, and you can use that result.
What image formats are supported?
